If you haven’t heard about Oprah’s No Phone Zone pledge, I highly recommend checking it out.

As Busy Single Moms, it’s easy to think that Multi-Tasking is the only way to go.  And while it IS an important skill to master, we have to keep in mind that there is a time and place.  While you’re driving IS NOT the time.

Did you know that when we start texting and driving with our kids in the car, we endanger their lives just as if we had 4 alcohlic beverages and then got behind the wheel?

Even when the kids ARE NOT in the car, we need to stay vigilant and not distract ourselves with the constant flow of communication we’ve become accustomed to.  As Single Mothers, who will care for our children if we become severly injured or killed in a car accident?  It is our responsibility to do all that we can to ensure our own safety, as well as the safety of our Children.

It took careful consideration before I took the pledge.  But I couldn’t ignore the facts.  I pledged to never text while driving again, and to only use a hands-free device if I have to talk on the phone while I drive.

I took the pledge.  I strongly encourage you to do the same.
